Grade 11 German Grammar Notes
This focused study page introduces Grammar and provides a revision activity. Use it alongside your classroom notes and the current curriculum design.
Key ideas
Grammar describes how words and phrases work together to communicate meaning. When studying German, pay attention to grammatical gender, case, agreement and the position of the finite verb. The form required depends on the sentence, so learn examples with their context rather than isolated word lists.
Practice activity
Take five model sentences from your prescribed German text. Identify the verb and subject, note the relevant grammatical forms and adapt each sentence while keeping the pattern.
Check your response
Explain the change you made and check its effect on agreement, word order and meaning.
Revision questions
- Explain the key terms in this topic using your own words and a relevant example.
- Apply the ideas to the practice activity above. Show the evidence or steps supporting your answer.
- Identify one possible mistake or limitation in your response and explain how you would correct it.
