1. Direction
Question: A map has north at the top. A well is directly below the school. In which direction is the well from the school?
Show answer and explanation
The well is south of the school. Read the north arrow first. Reversing the starting point changes the direction: the school is north of the well.
2. Map key
Question: Why does a simple map need a key?
Show answer and explanation
A key explains what the symbols represent. For example, a small cross might represent a health facility if the key says so. Do not assume a symbol has the same meaning on every map.
3. Community services
Question: Name one service a health centre provides and explain why it is useful.
Show answer and explanation
A health centre may provide treatment or preventive health services. The service helps people obtain appropriate health support. Name a specific service rather than repeating only that the centre is important.
How to review your Social Studies answers
- Read the instruction. Identify whether you need to name, explain, compare, calculate or give an example. Answer the task that was actually set.
- Make your reasoning visible. Show working for a calculation or give the detail that supports a written answer. A correct result without understanding is difficult to apply to a new question.
- Correct one difficulty. Record the error and explain the change needed. Try a similar example later without copying the worked answer.
Teachers and parents can use a short set to start a discussion, identify a misunderstanding and select a follow-up task. These activities provide focused practice; they do not certify coverage of every curriculum outcome or replace classroom teaching.
