How to revise History and Citizenship by topic
Start with one topic already covered in class. Read the question carefully, note the command word and answer independently before consulting any answer booklet. Keep a correction record with the question number, your original difficulty and the reasoning needed for a better response. Return to the question later without looking at the correction.
Distinguish a source from an interpretation
Illustrative practice task: A learner uses a diary written during an event and a textbook written many years later. Explain one strength and one limitation of the diary.
Reasoning: The diary offers a participant’s contemporary account, but its writer may have seen only part of the event or expressed a personal bias. Compare it with other evidence before reaching a conclusion. In a longer answer, separate what the source states from the explanation you infer.
This example is additional practice written for this page. It is not a quotation from the downloadable booklet or an official marking scheme.
Using the question and answer files
Choose the question or revision file first, then use the separately listed answer booklet to review your attempt. Match the subject and question numbering before marking: an answer from a different booklet may refer to a different question. Use the filenames above to locate the resources on the member page. Teachers can select exercises for class practice, while learners can use a short set for focused revision.
